EchoEmail is a simple to use Windows XP utility that allows email messages to be sent to you using the EchoLink text box. This addon can be used in PC User or Sysop mode. The recipient needs to be running this software EchoEmail so as to receive emails. Messages that are sent to your EchoLink text box in the format **Your Call** Message will send the content of the message to you via email. Example **EI4JR-L** This is a test message. Using your iPhone / Android to receive these email is a real bonus.
 
EchoProducer version 3.7.3 onwards has the weather feed built into the program for the weather warnings.
 
Setup a Gmail Account
A Gmail account is required to use this addon. A free Gmail account can be obtained from www.gmail.com
I set up a separate account to use EchoEmail as I found it more convenient
Download and unzip the EchoEmail program. 1 file. The program can be run from anywhere on your system. I have mine on the desktop

Initial Setup
 Download the EchoEmail.zip software into a directory unzip the software (1 file) and run. There is no installing the software simply put the file anywhere and run it ( Mine is on the desktop )
 
Setup Email Account and Options
 
Account Setup
The Gmail account that you have setup at www.gmail.com needs to be added here. You will need only to add your email and password so as the program can access your account to send the emails. The server and port need not be changed unless you are using some other system other than Gmail.
 
Send email To
Enter the email address that you want emails sent to you when a message is received.
clicking the Setup Email List button will enable you to add other emails. See Setup Email List below.
 
Conformation
When clicked the program will send a conformation message back via the EchoLink text box informing the sender that a email has been sent to you
 
Weather Email Options
This section is used when you are running the EchoProducer program with the weather options. You will need to be running Version 3.7.3 onwards. Earlier versions do not have the text feed for the EchoEmail addon.
Use Weather Warnings when ticked will send an email to you and any others that you have selected when a weather warning is sent via EchoProducer program.
Email when warning changes to no warning when ticked will send an email when the weather warning changes to back to No Warnings At This Time after a warning. Can be useful when the warning is over.
Email Sysop List - CC Email List - BCC Email List can be ticked as required
Subject This is the text the will be the subject of the message that you and others that you have selected to receive the emails will receive.
 
Sysop Email Options
Use Messages For Sysop when ticked will send messages via email that have been sent via the EchoLink text box to you in the format  **CALLSIGN** MESSAGE  (Example **EI4JR-L** Test Message)
You must be connected to the sending station direct or connected to the same conference or linked conferences.
Email Sysop List - CC Email List - BCC Email List can be ticked as required.
Subject This is the text the will be the subject of the message that you and others that you have selected to receive the emails will receive.
 
Extra Call
If you are running a link say EI4JR-L messages can be sent to either EI4JR-L or EI4JR you may wish to add an extra callsign here as well if you wish. You may be the sysop of a link or repeater where your users know your call and send it to your callsign instead of the repeater or links call.
 
Send Test Message
Once you have finished the setup you can send a test message If all is well you should receive the test email
 
Save Changes
This button will save all your changes.

Sysop - CC and BCC emails that you wish to add to the email messages can be entered here

Email
Stations that you want to send messages to by email via the EchoLink text box must also be running the EchoEmail program.
Messages can be sent to the via EchoLink text box in the format required in this section by simply entering there callsign in the Enter Callsign to send message to field. Enter the message to be sent in the Email / Text Box Message field and click the Send Email / Text button. There is a small delay while the message is been sent so be patent.
 
Messages can be sent using the EchoLink text box or iPhone / Android running the EchoLink application in the format **CALLSIGN** MESSAGE  (Example **EI4JR-L** Test Message)
 
 
Save Changes
This button will save all your changes.
